What If Humpty Dumpty Didn’t Fall Off That Wall?

We all know the story of Humpty Dumpty and his fall off that wall. It is a very short, somewhat boring and nonsensical story. What might have happened if he hadn’t toppled off that wall? Read on to find out…

In this wonderful animated story from HISHE Kids we get to hear an alternative version of the story. This one is much longer and much more fun. Here it is…

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did.

Did you notice the other nursery rhymes that got a mention?

What Next?

I wonder how much fun it might be get your children to look at some other traditional nursery rhymes and change the events in them or the endings?

What if Miss Muffet wasn’t scared of spiders?
What would Jack and Jill have done if they’d got to the top of the hill and the well was dry?
Could you have a completely different set of animals in ‘Hey Diddle Diddle’?
What if when Dr Foster went to Gloucester it hadn’t been raining?
Where else might the Grand Old Duke of York marched his men rather than up that hill?
What if when Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard she found it full of gold, or fairy dust, or…?

You might want them to then think of all the nursery rhymes they know and add to this list.

Tell them not to try and make their new nursery rhymes rhyme just have fun creating some brand new stories.

And Then…

If you enjoyed the character of Humpty Dumpty here is another video from HISHE Kids showing you how to draw him.
